World AIDS Day
Every year on December 1st, people from around the world come together to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and demonstrate international solidarity in the face of this pandemic. The day is an opportunity for public and private partners to raise awareness about the status of this pandemic, show support for people living with HIV, decrease HIV/AIDS stigma and discrimination, remember those who have died, and encourage progress in HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, treatment and care around the world.
In recognition of World AIDS Day, the San Diego HIV Youth Leadership Council has developed a curriculum for teachers and administrators to teach students about HIV. Also, we have a list of toolkit ideas to put events together at your school or in your community.
